Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D. LPC-S, ICP (IASIS Certified Provider)

My name is Jeremy Lelek, and I serve as the founder and president of Metroplex Counseling and Wellness. I have been a counselor since 1999, and have been a Licensed Professional Counselors since 2003. I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling Education and Supervision, an M.A. in Counseling, and a B.A. in Psychology.

I am also a Certified Provider with IASIS, a Micro-Current Neurofeedback system that offers cutting edge treatment to the brain. IASIS treatments are a naturopathic alternative to psychotropic medications, and are designed to impact the parasympathetic nervous system in such a way that symptoms such as depression, anxiety, anger, inattention, impulsively, addiction, and insomnia are positively impacted in a relatively short period of time.

Additionally, symptoms associated with mild traumatic brain injuries, autism, PTSD, ADHD, Lyme’s Disease, concussions, Fibromyalgia, and eating disorders are also positively impacted by this treatment.

After 20 years of biblical counseling, and now treating various clients with IASIS for the last three months, I have been beyond amazed at the results I’ve witnessed for some of the most difficult emotional and mental issues on my case load (i.e., Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, PTSD, Addiction, Insomnia, Major Depression, Major Anxiety, etc.). I highly recommend this treatment! For more information check out our IASIS page.

As a counselor, I seek to use the gifts and knowledge God has given me to most effectively minister to those who seek my help for counseling issues. There are many “voices” in counseling, and over the past decade, I have learned that the clearest voice able to heal the extreme pain, disappointment, anger, fear, addiction, and brokenness of my counselees is that of God’s (as revealed in His Word, and through His Spirit).

I firmly believe that God’s Word is an infallible truth that abides for all eternity. Peter tells us, “The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever” (I Peter 1:25).

My aim as a counselor is to impart this divine truth in a relevant manner for my clients in such a way that it reveals the true nature of their problems (be it marriage, parenting, depression, anger, anxiety, addiction, homosexuality, sleeplessness, etc.), and in hopes it will move them toward true and lasting healing. I work hard to extend the love of Jesus to every person who walks through my door whether they embrace the Christian faith or otherwise.

Areas of specialty include: Marriage, pre-marital, parenting, depression, anger, anxiety, addiction, homosexuality, sexual abuse, stress, work related struggles, and sleeplessness. I also have extensive experience with those who have been diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

I am also the president of the Association of Biblical Counselors, the author of Biblical Counseling Basics (2018), co-host on the podcast, Speak the Truth, a council member for the Biblical Counseling Coalition, and an adjunct professor at Regent University.

I have been blessed to be married to my beautiful wife, Lynne, and we currently have the joy of loving and raising our four amazing children.

Lynne Lelek, BSN, R.N., ICP

Lynne Lelek, BSN, R.N., ICP

My name is Lynne Lelek, and I am a Registered Nurse who holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing (BSN). I worked at Harris Methodist Hospital for sixteen years in Women’s Services, twelve of which I had the joy of working in Labor and Delivery where I had the privilege of serving top physicians and staff in D/FW to bring new life into the world.

Currently, I work on the Med-Surge Telemetry Unit at Baylor-Scott and White in downtown Fort Worth where I treat patients who have been discharged from the Emergency Room, but continue to require acute care. I find profound fulfillment in loving and ministering to those who find themselves in desperate medical (even emergency) situations.

One of my most exciting accomplishments within the last few years has been becoming a Certified IASIS Provider. Since offering IASIS I have been amazed at seeing people who rate themselves at a 7-10 (10 being severe) on issues such as anxiety and depression, and witnessing them rate their experience on these same issues at a 1-3 (1 being mild) following treatment—all without psychotropic meds. I love seeing people leave my office with a smile on their face.

Tammy Porostovsky, ICP, Provisional with Jeremy Lelek, Ph.D.

My name is Tammy Porostovsky, and I am a certified IASIS provider.  I have worked for Metroplex Counseling (as the office manager) since 2010, and I have a passion to love and serve our clientele well.

Several years ago, my husband and I experienced a very traumatic event when we lost our son, Max, within minutes of his birth because he had a fatal genetic disorder called Trisomy 18.  The trauma of losing a child just minutes after his birth has marked me forever.  It is from this place that I long to serve those who have experienced trauma by offering biblical love and support through the ground-breaking technology of Micro-Current Neurofeedback therapy (IASIS)–a treatment that brings healing and change to the brain scarred by the horror of trauma.

In addition to becoming a certified provider for IASIS, I am also currently a student at Le Torneau University where I am working towards a degree in counseling.

Tim Watson, LPC

Tim Watson, LPC

My name is Tim Watson and I’ve earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX after graduating with a BS in Sociology from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I am a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors and the Christian Association for Psychological Studies.

Over the past several years I have had the opportunity and privilege to work with adolescents, families, couples and individuals in a clinical setting as well as a church setting. My areas of specific interest in counseling include men’s issues, marriage and family issues, adolescents, addictions, anxiety/stress and grief/trauma.

As a believer in Christ and a counselor I consider it a great privilege to walk with those who are in the midst of life’s struggles. It may be hard to believe at this time but there is a God in Heaven who is ever so familiar with the struggles you and all of us deal with on a day-to-day basis and He longs to meet you right where you are. Hebrews 4:14-16 says “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses….Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” My hope and prayer for you as you pursue counseling is that you might experience first-hand God’s amazing grace and love no matter the circumstance.

I currently live in Fort Worth with my wife, Brittany and three crazy boys. I meet with clients in our Fort Worth, Bedford and Southlake offices.

Titus 3:3-7 states, “For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Notice the beginning of this passage and then the end of it. We have great hope. I pray I can come alongside you, whatever you are going through.

Practicum Students

Kimberly Dunkin, EMDR Therapist, Practicum Student

Kimberly Dunkin, EMDR Therapist, Practicum Student

After receiving a Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a passion for people and sports drew me to a career as a coach and teacher. As I invested in players as athletes, I was also drawn to their stories. Learning of their struggles and pain created a longing to walk alongside them in a deeper capacity. Walking the counseling road for my own personal grief and trauma, sparked an even deeper desire to help others find the same healing and hope, I had found through therapy.
As former foster and now adoptive parents, my husband and I became involved in the adoption community. Hearing stories of these beautiful children and families, led me to the belief that trauma was the root of certain behaviors. It was then a desire to work with traumatized individuals was kindled.

Having coached high-school soccer and martial arts for 20 years, studying counseling through the lens of Interpersonal Neurobiology, was a natural fit. As I researched, I became excited about the body’s capacity for change at the biological level. Experiencing these changes firsthand, propelled me to dive further into training with EMDR and Somatic Experiencing.

As one of only four clinicians trained in Somatic Experiencing in Fort Worth, I am excited to bring this trauma therapy into our community. Somatic Experiencing is a therapy that is considered when tradition therapy is not working for sensations, repetitive behaviors, or for a coupling of a trauma with a stuck body part, such as neck pain, a clinching jaw or chronic pain. Somatic Experiencing seeks to reset the nervous system to a healthy state. If you are interested in further researching this treatment please consider Somatic Experiencing.

God made us fascinating beings with the capacity to heal. I find it a joy to walk alongside a client seeking to restore hope through body-based healing and a biblical lens. I am passionate about helping individuals overcome PTSD, somatic issues, emotion dysregulation, addiction and trauma with a combination of EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and talk therapy. In addition to working with individuals, I enjoy working with adolescents and families. I have a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to reach out for help and admire those who do so.

My husband of twenty-six years and I have one musically gifted teenaged son. We love the outdoors and especially enjoy snow skiing and riding ATV’s.

John 8:36 – “Who the Son sets free is free indeed.”

Alyssa Conrad, CI-CPT, PN

My name is Alyssa Conrad and I am a certified nutritionist. I have been coaching clients with nutrition intervention and exercise since 2012. During a clinical rotation in my early nursing studies, I noticed most patients seemed to be sick with very preventable diseases. This realization, and my own health battles, fueled my passion to help heal and prevent chronic illness. I later changed my course of studies to focus on nutrition and exercise physiology, graduating from the University of Texas in Arlington in 2016. I have also completed studies at Cooper Clinic Institute for personal training and in Precision Nutrition. I continue my medical education through Functional Medicine meetings and various technical conferences to keep up with the latest research in the ever-changing field of functional nutrition. I am also working towards my certification in mental health nutrtion.

For the past decade, I have been practicing in physician supervised weight loss clinics and integrative and women’s medicine practices. I specialize in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and women’s general health, but also consult with many men. By helping to guide, educate and encourage hundreds of people with their health and wellness goals, I have had the pleasure of seeing people lose hundreds of pounds, reverse their diabetic state and, most importantly, decidedly improve their mental and emotional sense of well-being.
