Abuse (all types, including sexual, physical, emotional, verbal, etc.)

Addictions

Anger

Helping individuals identify roots of anger in the heart, growing out of frustrated desires and goals, providing solutions in keeping with freedom provided in a biblical understanding of heart change.

Anxiety and Fear (includes all forms of these, including OCD)

Application of biblical truth toward relief from crippling fear and anxiety by identifying the roots of these disturbances in reference to views of self, God and others, done in the of a loving, gospel-centered, and grace-oriented approach.

Depression

Through patient, compassionate and persistent care, providing biblical wisdom and love toward helping individual understand the contributions to thoughts and feelings comprising the depressed state of suffering, thus then applying biblical wisdom toward relief, acceptance, and pursuit of God.

Homosexuality

Offer Gospel-centered, grace-induced help for men and women seeking to glorify God in their desires, thoughts, and sexual conduct.  Our presupposition is that homosexual temptation resides under the same category as any sexual temptation, and therefore is not necessarily a struggle that is unique to human brokenness.  As such, a person struggling with homosexual temptation is not considered innately different than a person struggling with heterosexual temptation.  The primary innate distinction to which our counselors will pay closest attention is that of believer (alive in Christ) and non-believer (dead to sin).  If individuals are believers, then whether their sexual temptations are centered in individuals of the same gender of the opposite gender, our aim is to help them contend with desires that oppose God’s design while trusting completely in the grace of God to learn what it means to live self-controlled, upright lives (Titus 2:11-14).

Identity

Providing biblical understanding to an individual’s self-talk, accepted messages toward self, and faulty constructs of identity, in order to provide correction and encouragement toward a biblical view of man, redemption, and identity.

Infertility

Infertility is an issue that many couples of our day must address.  The despair and sadness that often accompany those who cannot conceive children can have lasting impact on the marriage, one’s sense of self, and hope for the future.  We seek to provide biblical wisdom and practical advice on how to move forward when infertility is a part of one’s story.  Hope in Christ and His eternal purposes are deeply emphasized!

Marital Counseling (Pre-Marital)

Provide a unique opportunity for a counselor and couple to build a relationship in which a Christ-centered, biblically informed approach is used to bring teaching and correction concerning God’s intentions for marriage and relationships, the communication process, finances, in-laws, sex, and so on. This involves helping each individual understand him or herself and what each one brings to the marriage, exploring potential challenges and expectations, and helping them become realistic about the adjustments they must make in order to have a godly and sanctifying marriage.

Marital Counseling

Assist married couples toward an understanding of the heart issues beneath the struggles with one another, bringing biblical solutions to the impediments and problems that cause disunity, and teach practical, yet biblical, ways of handling differences and struggles, all in the context of a gospel-centered, grace-oriented approach.

Parenting

Application of biblical wisdom toward understanding the parents’ own hearts, their manner of parenting, goals and methodologies, while seeking to find solutions to particular family and relational contributions to problems, offering wisdom to address these in love and with biblical insight.

Relational Issues (all types, including family, friendships, and others)

Application of biblical truth and wisdom in addressing common relational struggles such as communication and conflict, direction and purpose of relationship, as well as learning to love while in relational tension.
