Do you take insurance?

Many people choose a counselor based on whether or not he or she receives insurance. While considering budgetary demands is important, insurance is not necessarily the best indicator of who one should choose as a counselor.

Counseling can be one of the most important decisions you ever make for yourself. As such, you want to make sure you choose a counselor who is qualified. If you are a Christian, one of the most important qualifications to consider is does the counselor actually know how to apply Scripture to the issues with which you are struggling. A very unique component about Metroplex Counseling is that our counselors are proficient in utilizing the Bible as the very basis of our work.

If you are planning to submit our services to your insurance company, you may want to contact them and discuss your “out of network” benefits. This may assist you in receiving reimbursement from your insurance company in a more prompt manner. At Metroplex Counseling, you will pay for services at the time of your appointment. We will provide you with a bill containing all pertinent codes so that you may submit it to your insurance provider in hopes you will receive full or partial reimbursement. For a further explanation on why we operate in this manner, please see “Fees and Insurance” at the top of the website.

Are your counselors licensed?

All counselors at Metroplex Counseling are either (1) licensed professional counselors (LPC), licensed by the state of Texas to practice as professionals, (2) LPC interns who have earned a Masters degree from an accredited university , and are now working towards licensure by completing the required 3000 hours of supervised practice, or (3) student interns currently enrolled in an accredited counseling program, and are earning the required counseling hours needed for the completion of their graduate degree.

What are your fees?

Our fees range from $100-$150. Our caring staff will assist you in finding a counselor that is suitable to both your counseling and budgetary needs.

What is the difference between
“Christian counseling” and “Biblical counseling”?

Christian counseling is a very broad title that often encompasses ideas and philosophies that are not compatible with the Bible. Christian counselors tend to integrate (or combine) theories from secular thinkers like Freud and others with a Christian worldview.

Biblical counselors, on the other hand, do not integrate (or combine) secular ideas into their philosophy of counseling. Instead, they begin from the Bible, and seek to create their perspectives and methods of counseling from Scripture alone. As such, life, circumstances, emotions, thinking, and human change are shaped by the truths of the Bible over and above the theories of man.

What is a licensed professional counselor?

A licensed professional counselor (LPC) is an individual who has satisfied all the state requirements for licensure (i.e., supervised counseling experience, passing a state licensing exam). These individuals are called to abide by ethical standards deemed appropriate by the licensing board.
