Howdy! My name is Kelsey Hollis, and I am a counselor, wife, soon-to-be-momma, daughter, sister, and friend. In each of those roles, my hope is to walk alongside people as they pursue healing and fullness of joy. I originally pursued counseling because I love to hear people’s stories: the daily routines, the routine struggles, the heartbreaking moments, and the journey to overcoming. As I pressed into counseling, professionally and personally, the Lord revealed the depth of brokenness within my own heart and in my world. On many different couches and alongside many wise counselors, He guides me to His Truth as the answer amidst my suffering and Himself as the Healer amidst my pain. He is doing this daily, weekly, and in every season. As a counselor, I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to sit “across the couch” from people; and, I firmly believe that there is hope for change within that space.

I have been married for four years to my high school sweetheart, Tim. We are expecting our first little one, a son, this coming August. That little soul is already so precious to us, as we prepare for his arrival! Tim and I are covenant members at The Village Church in Flower Mound, where he serves in the worship ministry and I serve in the preschool ministry. I enjoy gathering with people around the table for a good meal, a coffee break, laughs, and conversation about life and/or football (preferably the Aggies or the Redskins).

I received my Masters in Counseling from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi and my Bachelors in Psychology from Texas A&M University (Whoop!). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPC Intern) under the supervision of Jeremy Lelek, Ph. D., LPC-S. I am currently a member of the Association of Biblical Counselors and the Texas Counseling Association. Prior to joining the team at Metroplex Counseling, I spent a year as the student counselor for a nonprofit agency in Corpus Christi.

As I counselor, I am committed to working hard alongside you to provide professional, insightful counsel that is rooted in Truth. As you begin this process, it would be my joy and honor to hear your story and walk with you through this season. I believe that, in your vulnerability, the Lord is faithful to bring life, fellowship, and healing (1 John 1:7-9, John 8:12, Romans 8:28). Wherever the Lord has you, I pray He continually conforms you to His image, comforts you with His eternal comfort, and brings life and light into the hard, confusing, or disappointing parts of your story.
