My name is Haleigh CeBallos and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the supervision of Jeremy Lelek, Ph. D., LPC-S. I attended Sam Houston State University where I received my bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a minor in Kinesiology while competing in cross country and track. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas. During my Master’s I gained extensive clinical experience working at an Eating Disorder clinic.  On a more personal note I am an artist and love long distance running, laughter, thrift shopping, and cupcakes.

In my own journey through brokenness, sin, and sanctification the Lord has graciously allowed me to see His vision for healing and setting captives free. The world offers up solutions to our problems that typically glorify “the self” and modify behaviors without ever addressing the soul and transforming hearts. Jeremiah 6:13 says, “They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, Peace,’ when there is no peace.” God instructs in his word that true healing, peace, and freedom run deeper than transforming our outer behaviors but instead we must go to the depths our hearts and weigh the lies, which we believe, against the Truths of God. Only once we know our hearts can we truly repent of our sinfulness and begin to ask God to change our hearts to align with His. God accomplishes this heart change by helping us recover a right understanding and application of the Gospel in our lives.

I know that the process of change is painful, difficult, and at times feels hopeless. But when we take our eyes off of our ability to change ourselves and look to the Gospel we can find the assurance of salvation and the strength to engage in the spiritual war for our hearts. You might not be able to see past the moment or have a vision for life beyond your affliction, but God has a vision for your life and He promises to carry you through it if you would be obedient and trust Him.

I want to walk beside you in the process of seeing the vision of redemption God has for you and providing you a safe place in which you can wrestle through pursuing His promises. I pray that you would not grow weary in this season but instead cling to the precious truths of God and allow them to refine and restore your soul for the glory of His kingdom.

My areas of specialty and interest include: eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, over eating, orthorexia, disordered eating, exercise addiction), therapeutic meals, identity, athletes, self-worth, depression, body image, loneliness, anxiety, control, and women and adolescent issues.
